The Longleaf pines a unique member of the pine tree family which once dominated the forests that stretched from our southeastern coast and on west to east Texas. Longleaf pine lumber was prized for being straight, long grained, durable and beautiful.

Longleaf Pines were replaced with faster growing species, and its natural range has been drastically reduced to isolated pockets in the Southeastern US in nature preserves and national forests.
